Job Summary
The Indirect Registration Expert oversees taxpayer registration frameworks to ensure accurate, complete, and timely processing in line with legal and procedural requirements. The role reviews complex applications, steers the integrity of the central taxpayer register across integrated systems, defines registration standards and guidance, and provides analyses to improve throughput, data quality, and taxpayer experience. It coordinates with digital/IT and operational units to maintain efficient platforms and consistent procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Registration Oversight & Case Review
- Reviews complex or borderline registration applications, providing determinations and guidance to registration teams.
- Oversees adherence to eligibility criteria, documentation standards, and processing timelines.
- Provides advisory input on recurring registration challenges and procedural consistency.
Taxpayer Register & Data Quality
- Oversees accuracy and integrity of the central taxpayer register through periodic reconciliations, validations, and controls across systems.
- Defines and maintains master data standards (e.g., identifiers, classifications) and coordinates corrective actions with digital/IT teams.
Procedures, Templates & Guidance
- Defines and reviews section procedures, checklists, and templates; drafts updates on critical items and ensures version control.
- Provides technical input for taxpayer-facing materials such as registration guides, FAQs, and portal content to ensure clarity and consistency.
Performance & Reporting
- Monitors registration KPIs (e.g., processing timelines, accuracy rates, and service levels) and prepares concise management summaries.
- Analyzes registration trends by sector or business type and recommends process or system enhancements to improve efficiency.
Coordination & Support
- Coordinates case resolutions with relevant departments to ensure timely and consistent outcomes.
- Supports knowledge-sharing and capability development within the registration team through targeted briefings and procedural guidance.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
| Preferred qualifications | ● Bachelor’s degree in Law, Taxation, Accounting, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field. ● Master’s degree or relevant professional certification is an advantage. |
| Preferred experience | ● 16+ years’ experience in taxpayer registration/onboarding or related master-data functions in government or comparable environments. ● Demonstrated knowledge of registration frameworks, procedural controls, and data-quality practices for high-volume processing. |
| Technical & Other Skills | ● Strong capability in complex case review, procedural drafting, and taxpayer-register/data-quality oversight. ● Effective analytical, organizational, and coordination skills; clear written communication for guidance and executive summaries. |
